What is my stuff worth?
You can find out exactly what your stuff is worth by searching Google/EBAY/Amazon for price comparison.  Enter a few quick facts about your product and it will instantly give you suggested values.
Is it safe to sell expensive products (Wire Transfers etc)?
Everything we do at Patriot List is focused around trust and reputation. To assure buyers have the required funds to cover expensive items, Patriot List requires buyers to wire money directly to Patriot List Inc. for any product equal to or greater than $1500. Once the wire transfer is completed the seller is notified that they have 72hrs to deliver the buyer the product. 24hrs after the buyer receives the product the seller will receive the money.
Why do people want to sell their stuff?
To earn a little or a lot of extra income. Simplify their life. To provide great products to friends, neighbors, and members of their community at less than retail cost. To keep money in their own communities rather than the bottom line of companies not invested in the economic health of their community.
How long does it take to sell my stuff?
The length of time required for a product to sell depends on the reputation and trust associated with both the buyer and seller in their community. Additionally the time depends on price, brand, age, condition and ultimately, if someone is looking for that product.
How many products are sold on patriotlist.us?
We started Patriot List.com to help millions of people worldwide buy, sell, and trade their things on a platform based on their personal reputations within their local communities and beyond. A platform where trust and transparency are paramount.
What does it cost to post a product?
All posts are FREE!  We charge a small processing fee on transactions only. (30 Cents + 5% of transaction for products less than $500 or 30 cents + 3% for transactions over $500). There are no renewals, subscriptions or hidden charges.  And unlike some other resale sites, we won't change our processing fees based on usage. (You can use patriotlist.us as much as you want!) We Built patriotlist.us for you! ☺
Can I post if I live outside of the US?
No, not Yet! We plan to eventually have buyers and sellers from all over the world. However, right now you can only sell your stuff from the United States.
What pictures should I submit with my listing?
Ideal images include pictures of the front, back, side and detail of your product. Images should be submitted in (jpg., png., gif.) (patriotlist.us has been optimized for use with you Mobile Phone Camera). With our Patriot List mobile site, your product images will automatically be rotated for best presentation. You can always edit your photos and posts once they are uploaded by going to the (view/edit listings) drop down under your name.
How do I make more of my picture appear in the preview view?
Images are cropped for the preview view that appears on the market pages.  More of your image will appear in your preview view if your image is square.  The more rectangular (long and skinny) your image, the more that will be cropped in the preview. And of course, the full image will be visible on your product page. (2MB LIMIT ON ALL PHOTOS)
How long does it take for my listing to get posted?
Creating your post listing takes less than 5 minutes.  Once you submit your post, your listing will be immediately live on the site. Additionally, patriotlist.us makes it easy for you to share your products to a Facebook Garage Sale Group, Pinterest Board, Email List, or Craigslist.
How do I make changes to my listing?
Just login to your account and move to your drop down menu.  From there, you'll be able to select “view/edit listings” to edit your listing(s).
How do I get my post to be featured on the top of the listings from my area?
When your post is created it is immediately added to the top of the postings from any geographic area. patriotlist.us charges $5 to “BUMP” or “Promote Post”. Every free member can choose to Bump/Promote Post three times a month. patriotlist.us Pro Members can Bump/Promote Posts for free up to ten times a month. Just login to your account and click "My Posts".  From there, you'll be able to Bump/Promote Post(s).
Should I offer a return policy?
All Patriot List transactions have a mandatory 24hr return policy with full refund.


Patriot List will have nothing to do with any return outside of the mandatory 24hr period. Offering an additional return policy is completely up to you, but we do recommend it, and here's why.  Buying a second hand product entails risk for both the buyer and the seller. patriotlist.us does its best to de-risk the transaction by creating an open, transparent, and trust based platform. However, the fear of the unknown can put an emotional strain on the financial decision to purchase a product from you.  It will make it easier for a person (who has never met you) to buy it from you if they know that they can return it if it really doesn't meet their needs or is not what they felt it was advertised as.

If you are going to offer a return policy here is what we suggest:


1) Offer it for a finite period: The buyer should have to notify you within 24, 48, 72, etc hours and should have to ship it back within 5, 10, 15, etc days of receipt.


2) The buyer should be responsible for shipping and insurance charges both ways. Insurance and signature on delivery is mandatory. Shipping fees are not refundable in the case of a return.


3) Consider charging a "return fee" of 5-15% of your asking price.  This will encourage only serious buyers from taking advantage of your returns offer.
Who pays for shipping and how much will it cost?
As the seller, you can determine who pays the shipping cost (you, the buyer, or shared between both).  Most sellers specify shipping as a buyer cost and it is added to the asking price at the time of sale.  The cost of shipping will depend on the size of the box, shipping method and shipping speed.  You can find tips on shipping your products and shipping cost calculators on google.
How are the prices determined?
Prices are set by the seller and are completely at his/her discretion. A quick search of Amazon/Ebay will give you an estimate on the fair market value of your product.
I have an interested buyer, now what?
Congratulations!  You're on your way to making your first sale.  To make your transaction as smooth as possible invite your buyer to the patriotlist.us family and point them to your market page. From there it is as simple as signing up for a patriotlist account and purchasing your product.
BUYER ANSWERS:
What if I chargeback a sale on my credit or debit card?
Any user who chooses to initiate a chargeback procedure after conducting a transaction on Patriot List will have their user account blocked from further transactions. Any dispute should be made through the Patriot List Disputes Process. The users account will remain blocked pending the outcome of an investigation. If the user is believed to have fraudulently charged back the money, further legal action will be taken to retrieve the amount charged back and any legal fees associated with the case will be sought in damages.
What if the product I want is not listed?
New product listings are posted to the site daily. These new listings can be found on our home page.  Buyers can also list products they are “in search of” under the “Ask the Community” section on the market page. This will allow your friends and members of your community to view all products wanted in their area and match what they have to sell with the wants and needs in your community. 
What happens if I cannot reach the seller of a product I'm interested in?
If you've tried to reach a seller through the public “ask the seller a question” message system and have not heard back from them after 5 days, please email us. We'll reach out to the seller on your behalf and send them your contact information directly if you want us to.

How to Optimize Your Listing
Think of your product listing like an advertisement being read by someone who doesn't know anything about your product.  The more information, detail and pictures you can provide, the more likely someone will contact you.
Price it Right
Price is one of the most importance factors that influences your products chance of selling.  The more attractive the price, the more inquiries you will receive. Use online resources to find out exactly what your product is worth. If after a few weeks, you find you aren't getting the traffic or inquiries you had hoped for, consider reducing your price.  A reduction of 20% or more will place your product at the top of the market page and will add a 'Price Reduced' banner for 30 days.
Use Great Pictures
Your pictures are the best way to showcase your product.  Ideally, your listing will contain images of the full front and back of your product.  And close ups of any detail.  Pictures on an actual person will give a much better idea of clothing than a hanger.  Other products should be framed with a nice background and plenty of light. Buyers always want to see the actual product being sold in the listing.
Give Detailed Information
Be sure to fill out all categories (fields like category, sub-category, location, etc).  Buyers may be searching only by these criteria, so if they aren't filled in, your product won't return in their search.  And don't forget to include your zip (postal) code.  Without it, your product won't return in local area searches which are done by zip code, neighborhood, and town, and city.

Full Disclosure Is Important
Hopefully it goes without saying, but full disclosure is very important.  Revealing any imperfections about your product will prevent any issues as your transaction progresses. How To Ship A Product
How to ship it!
Yea! If you are a buyer or a seller, there is nothing more exciting than finalizing the sale and shipping the product…If you are ready to ship a product, here is what you should know:

1.    Package it properly. This will ensure the product is not damaged in transit. (Remember, the box will be loaded onto trucks, conveyor belts and potentially airplanes. The handlers will not be aware of the precious cargo inside).

2.    Insure it for the value/selling price.  

3.    Use a trackable method and require a signature release.
How to package it correctly
1. Use a sturdy corrugated cardboard box. 

2. Make sure you get a box that is the right size for your product. You want to ensure the product doesn’t move around too much inside the box.  If the box is too big, fill extra space with tightly wadded kraft paper, peanuts or other materials.

3. The product is money so protect it as required and use plastic to cover it (for the unlikely, but possible event, that the box gets wet).

4. Seal the flaps and seams with strong mailing tape that is a minimum width of two inches.

5. Place the shipping label on top and avoid putting the label over a seam/closure or on top of the tape. Put a duplicate label (with a phone number) inside the box.

Shipping costs will vary based on the location and size and weight of your box (expect a large/heavy product to cost more to ship than a small one).  Once you know your buyer's location, you can get a shipping estimate from any of these carriers: USPS, FedEx, UPS.

The warning signs are:

1. Interested in an immediate purchase, but doesn't ask specific questions about your item

2. Wants to make payment via cash, check, cashier's check, person to person wire transfer or money order. To have a safe transaction, the only payment you should accept is a secure payment method through Patriol List.com.

3. Asks questions that are clearly indicated in your listing

4. Uses poor grammar and/or spelling
